Doing right towards each other is a testament to your love and to the level of personal growth you’ve both achieved. I hope that you’ll both attract someone radiating at the same level of maturity. Much respect!

Who Should Initiate Contact – Dumper Or Dumpee?
I see your point, but what if she doesn’t come to you, then what?

Your relationship definitely needs to change, but it’s not going to change just because you change who reaches out first and/or tries to make things work.

Who Should Initiate Contact – Dumper Or Dumpee?
A letter immediately after a break-up only helps you the writer and not your ex — or the relationship. If you want to send one with no expectations for a response and no request for another chance, then do it for you. It’s not something I’d advice if you want to get back together.

Most people immediately after a break-up do not want to hear how much you love them or miss them, even when the reason for the break-up was because they didn’t feel loved. Too much and all of a sudden outpouring of emotion is overwhelming at best, and suspicious at worst.

From experience, a simple “hi, how are you?” gets you a long way than an emotional letter. If and when communication is re-established, you can then send her the letter.

Have you tried positing your question on No Contact forums/sites? You’ll get better advice/help on what’s allowed or not allowed in no contact.

This site is for people NOT doing NC, don’t want to do NC and are repulsed by the very idea of NC. Here we do grown-up stuff like… COMMUNICATE… 😉

10 Indicators You’ll Be Drawn Back To Each Other
It’s always heart-warming to read stories like yours, and I accept the thanks. But as they say, any advice is only as good as the person using it. You made it happen for you.

And you’re right, there is no such a thing as a perfect relationship, but there are relationships that are close to perfect.

I am happy for you! All the VERY best.

I am glad to be of some help.

I hope all goes well.

You will not be disrespecting her request because you are not asking her to get back into the relationship/be a couple. Her request was not to stop contacting her but to give her space away from the relationship so she can grow as a person.

So go ahead and initiate contact while keeping her request in mind. The worst thing that can happen to a relationship is that two people take a break with the intention of creating a better relationship, only to regroup and things are the same, or worse, there is no relationship.

10 Silly Mind Games Your Ex Is Playing
Sounds like mind games for sure. But you are complacent in this, may be even playing mind games yourself.

The man is married… that should be an exit clue for you. What were you doing entertaining the attentions of a married man for 5 years; a man you say was abusive?!

Next time you get into a relationship remember, “you teach people how thy treat you”. If you make it okay for someone to treat you a certain way, they will.

Sounds like a great guy who just needs some space. I don’t think you should give him up either.

Give him the time he needs. Since he is open to contact, ask him how much contact he is comfortable with because you don’t want to assume and end up smothering him again.

What will eventually get him back is for you to work on your insecurities, so what when he is ready, you will be ready too. If when he comes back, you are still acting the same, he may decide it’s best to go your separate ways.

Hang on to this guy. There may be many fish in the sea, but all you need is ONE good one, and these days that aren’t that many good ones.
