SELF ASSESSMENT
Have You Been Friendzoned By Your Avoidant Ex? [TEST]
This quiz will help you tell if the “friendliness” you are feeling from your avoidant ex is the friendzone or if they’re warming up to you in a romantic way.
There’s often a stage during the reconnection process when you feel like you’re getting along but more like a confidant, emotional support or platonic friend, and not someone your avoidant ex could fall back in love with. This is a sign that you may be in the friendzone or at a risk of being friendzoned. This quiz will help you tell if the “friendliness” you are feeling from your avoidant ex is the friendzone or if they’re letting their guard down and warming up to you in a romantic way.

SCORING
10 – 17 — High chance you’re being friendzoned: Things feel calm and respectful, but sexually neutral — like a platonic friendship. Too much playing it safe may have put you at the risk of being friendzoned or trapped you in the “friendzone”.
18 – 25 — Moderate chance you’re being friendzoned: There’s flickers of sexual chemistry but it’s not consistent. Maybe you worry about “ruining progress” or making them uncomfortable, but without consistent reminders that you’re not “just a friend” things can easily feel like a polite friendship or emotional caretaker dynamic.
26 – 32 — No risk of being friendzoned but risk of not getting back together: You’re not likely to fall in the friendzone, but you’re still hesitant to show romantic attraction. You need to start showing that you’re not just sexually drawn to them, you also want to build a romantic relationship with them.
33 – 40 — No risk of being friendzoned and a good chance of getting back together: Your dynamic feels emotionally intimate, sexually comfortable and mutually romantically engaging — this is a sign that getting back together is a real possibility.
As you look at your results, remember: with avoidant exes the lines between starting as friends and the friendzone are sometimes blurred, especially for fearful avoidants. Look for some signs of “sexual tension” and “romantic interest” and not just that they respond. And if the quiz shows you’re in the friendzone, don’t panic — there are still secure-based ways to shift the dynamic. The important thing is you now know and can do something about it.
