About Love Doctor Yangki Akiteng – Post-Breakup Coach

I mostly work with post-breakup situations but I also work with a current struggling anxious-avoidant relationship.
I focus on changing the current dynamics to where BOTH people can see how the relationship can work better, and want to give it another chance, or make the current relationship work.
What separates my work from other coaches is not just that the reconnection process is designed to be a mutual process, it’s also a way to actively build security within yourself. Even reconnection ultimately doesn’t work out, you walk away with a fundamentally rewired, healthier attachment style that serves you for the rest of your life.
I’m based in Toronto-Canada but work with clients in the USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Middle East, South America, Africa and any part of the world.
Why I do this work
Early in my own relationships, I struggled with a dismissive avoidant attachment style in ways that didn’t always make sense at the time, and there were times when I really needed someone who would listen to what I was going through with empathy and compassion instead of judgement. Someone who didn’t tell me nothing is my fault or everything is my fault. Someone I felt genuinely had my back, wanted what was best for me and didn’t just tell me what I wanted to hear.
I didn’t always get that, and so I promised myself that I would be that person for others.
That experience — combined with a Psychology background and trauma-informed training — is a big part of why I started this site. (Read my full story)
For over 20 years, I’ve helped anxious and avoidant exes reconnect while also becoming secure at the same time. I’ve worked extensively with avoidants themselves, helping them understand their distancing patterns and safely re-engage with their exes.
This hands-on work has given me a grounded understanding of what works — and what doesn’t work —when trying to get back with an ex.

Applied work & original materials
In addition to client work, I’ve developed and written eight secure attachment-focused workbooks used in post-breakup and reconnection contexts. These workbooks are based on real client patterns and are designed to help individuals regulate attachment responses, reduce avoidance-triggering behaviors, and rebuild emotional safety.
Experience-based guidance, not generic advice
Everything I share on this site is informed by:
- Direct client work
- Attachment and trauma research
- Observed patterns across thousands of post-breakup dynamics
I do not promote quick fixes or one-size-fits-all rules. My goal is to help you understand why a breakup unfolded the way it did — and how to respond in a way that restores emotional safety rather than reinforcing distance.
