10 Emotions That Make Your Ex Feel Attracted To You – No.8 Pride
Pride used to be a good thing until narcissism multiplied in numbers. When we hear the word “pride”, what comes to mind is: arrogance, smugness, vanity, exaggerated self-importance, superiority complex, cocky, egotistical etc.
But take away the primordial chest-thumping and the negative feelings about the word ‘pride’; and pride is still an essential emotion. Pride communicates self-worth and perceived value. As an emotion, it’s a self-congratulatory feeling of achievement or accomplishing something significant or intimately connected to oneself.
If it feels good to be proud of yourself; it also feels good for your ex to know and see that you recognize the value of their achievements or accomplishments.
To make your ex feel attracted to you, make it a habit to communicate pleasure and joy for the qualities you value in them; and for something they’ve accomplished or acquired. This is especially important if during the relationship they felt you didn’t support them enough; or felt that they were not good enough.
Use the 3-1 positivity ratio to make your ex know you value them and are impressed by their efforts; or what they’ve accomplished. The 3-1 positivity ratio simply means it takes three positive experiences to offset one negative experience. For every heart-wrenching negative emotional experience you endure; you need to experience at least three heartfelt positive emotional experiences that uplift you.
This means that for every experience that made your ex feel unsupported, unappreciated, disrespected, unworthy; or felt that you were ashamed of them; you need at least three heartfelt positive emotional experiences for your ex to feel that you genuinely value them for who they are, their efforts and accomplishments.
